Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Leads multiple project teams of other software quality assurance engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of quality assurance for complex products and platforms, including testing strategy, analysis, coding, results evaluation, and proposed corrective actions.
  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development and quality assurance partners on software and firmware design and development.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with quality assurance guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software quality assurance leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software quality assurance organization.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
  • Must be extremely hands-on. Be able to develop good understanding of the system and strategy on how to test the system.
  • Develop test plans, executes established test plans and protocols; identifies, logs, and debugs assigned issues.
  • Code and program test scripts, automation, and integration activities based on specific test requirements.
  • Participate as a member of project team of other software quality assurance engineers and internal and outsourced quality assurance partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions.
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of innovation and excellence.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically 6-10 years experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Proficient in debugging, trouble shooting
  • Experience testing large systems, preferably at scale. Must be creative in developing test systems without needing full scale hardware.
  • Be strong in automation, understand what areas of testing can be automated, develop and execute an automation strategy.
  • Must be proficient in debugging and trouble shooting. Must have demonstrated ability to understand complex systems. Should be able to guide other engineers, document best practices.
  • Extensive experience in overall architecture of firmware and interaction with hardware designs for products and solutions.
  • Designing and integrating firmware into overall architecture and hardware design across multiple platforms.
  • Evaluating and selecting forms and processes for firmware testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • History of innovation with multiple patents or deployed solutions in the field of software design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
