The Senior Software Test Engineer is part of the Clearing and Settlement (CAS) Test Engineering team based in Bangalore, India. CAS is one of Visa’s largest revenue generating platform. We need a highly motivated and skilled Software Test Engineers that are passionate on using modern software engineering and testing principles to deliver robust applications to our global users.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop test plans and functional test cases from business requirements and conceptual documents.
  • Collaborate with peers and other customers in Test design/plan review sessions to ensure flawless code releases. Support multi-functional teams in integration test efforts.
  • Build test tools to improve quality and performance of our system.
  • Setup, configure, and maintain test environments. Provide estimates on scope and scale of effort needs to test changes. Execute test cases, analyze, and report test results to project team.
  • Collaborate closely with development team to analyze, debug and resolve any application issues.
  • Implement standard processes, tools, and metrics to deliver large-scale projects from inception to conclusion that meet quantifiable business objectives.
  • Provides technical recommendations and testing solutions that promote reusability across multiple projects/initiatives. Applies experience and skills to take on testing challenges including but not limited to data management, test environment and application configuration.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to team members responsible for testing multiple components/projects.

Job Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Experience in SDLC methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Iterative/Incremental)
  • 3+ years’ comprehensive experience in Mainframe, TSO, MVS JCL, ISPF, File Aid, COBOL, SQL, DB2
  • Experience with automation tools, tool development using ISPF, CLIST and REXX
  • Experience with one or more programming languages like C/C++ or Java
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of payments domain is a plus
