Job Description:

This position is for the Data Protection Software Division’s Data Protection Advisor product and needs skills and experience of delivering solutions with high standards for the quality. Data Protection Advisor improves recovery confidence and manages service levels with powerful data protection management capabilities. With Data Protection Advisor, customers can unify and automate monitoring, analysis and reporting across backup and recovery environments while reducing complexity, lowering costs, and eliminating manual efforts.

We work in large scale agile methodologies with the teams spread over the globe. Each scrum team has ownership of the component and works with the rest of the teams to deliver new exciting features.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze functional requirements, identify and correct gaps and inconsistencies
  • Prepare and maintain test environment, including necessary equipment, configuration, and software
  • Plan and execute different types of manual/automated tests
  • Report on testing stages and results
  • Improve existing automation test coverage
  • Develop test documentation and keeping it up to date
  • Be able to learn and apply new tools and applications
  • Work together with development team to find the root cause of defects and fix them
  • Consider whether both the requirement and customer expectations have been delivered
  • Work with customers on solving issues from engineering perspective
  • Follow standard engineering/test practices
  • Work in Agile software development process
  • Demonstrate self-initiative

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Higher education, Computer Science
  • 5+ years of hands on experience in coding.

Job Requirements:

  • Good understanding of QA methodology and software development lifecycle
  • Experience in manual testing, writing test documentation
  • Knowledge of bug tracking systems (JIRA)
  • Understanding of SCRUM methodology
  • Good understanding of relational databases, working knowledge of SQL
  • Good understanding of REST API
  • Experience in work with continuous integration systems (Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of version control systems (SVN, Git)
  • Communication skills, good English
  • Ability to analyze information and draw accurate conclusions
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to align with frequently changing product requirements
  • Product/technology/industry knowledge.

Preferred Skills:

  • Data Protection Knowledge
  • Backup & Recovery softwares like Avamar, NetWorker, NetBackup, CommVault etc is plus.
  • Experience in automation testing
  • Knowledge of Java, Python
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Groovy)
  • Knowledge of Windows & Linux (experienced user)
