Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop test methodology (Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Design) to test the feature end-to-end, low level tests to validate building blocks of storage stack
  • Test Automation framework and feature development, Triaging: Build and enable the team to build stable, low maintainable test automation by developing a solid framework and feature tests.
  • Help the engineers in code review and guide them on good design principles
  • Monitor and manage continuous integration environments in Pipeline for regression test suites and new tests.
  • Analyze failures, root cause issues, file defects, track the issues for resolution, verification and documentation.
  • Own product areas and collaborate with stakeholders – product management, development, partner engineering, solutions, technical writers, program management to support them and ensure delivery of high-quality releases to our customers and partners as per product release schedule.
  • Improve Engineering Efficiency: Be a major contributor in building and strengthening test automation for enhancing engineering productivity and regularly monitor & enhance test coverage. Reduce test cycle times, defect escapes and increase code coverage.
  • Lead and represent functional test team in Engg-sync-up discussions with Partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Participate in Interop test scoping, test plan development & reviews. You are expected to understand the complex interactions across different cross functional product teams.
  • Work smartly to Identify & develop continuous Automation for E2E integration in the CI/CD Pipelines and pre-check-in pipelines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues across the Product, Test infra and Pipeline involving a combination of Products like vSphere ESXi, VC, NSX, Wavefront, VMware Cloud on AWS etc…

Job Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in validation and debuggability on at least one of the Storage protocols [SCSI, NVMe, FC, iSCSI, NFS, FCoE].
  • Experience working with any Object Storage architecture and exposure to VMWare ESXi storage solutions vVols, vSAN, VMFS, NFS, VAAI, etc..
  • Strong programming skills and several years of test automation framework development experience using Java, Python or C/C++.
  • Domain expertise in virtualization and storage technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities spanning multiple software and hardware components (such as storage systems, kernels and management platforms etc.
  • Good soft skills, documentation skills and experience working with partners and team across geographies
  • Hands-on product development experience in the storage domain and Java TestNG framework is a plus
  • 8 – 12 Years of experience in an equivalent role.
