Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the scrum process with cross functional impact that involve moderately complex products, projects, non-projects, or maintenance work
- Guide the scrum teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint
- Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance
- Coach Scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following enterprise change management standards, business process mapping, and various development and release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, control, security, and development requirements are met
- Train other Scrum Masters and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff
- Partner with discipline managers about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards
- Facilitate Scrum Agile ceremonies for the teams
- Collaborate with product owners, program or project managers to communicate delivery of work product from the team and escalate key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Interact with internal customers
- Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Job Requirements:
- 4+ years of Practicing Agile Scrum Master experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Preferred Skills:
- 2+ working with agile tools (such as Jira and Jira Align)
- 1+ years working in a SAFe or LeSS environment
- 1+ years’ experience with Kanban
- Experience moving teams and organizations from waterfall to methodologies via agile transformations
- Strong understanding of product management and product ownership
- Mentoring or coaching experience
- Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships within a matrix environment and
- Ability to orchestrate multiple dependent teams, some of which may be waterfall
- Ability to lead during times of ambiguity and change
